For all you nightingales at heart- or in the shower (we don’t discriminate), we have exciting news for you! #LMM5 محفل موسیقی, a sonic playground that comes to life annually in the lush grounds of the Alhamra Arts Council is here and starting from tomorrow ,February 1st & 2nd 2020.
We ❤ the line-up of new artists and fresh sounds along with interactive talks, panel discussions, masterclasses, story-telling sessions, and documentary/film screenings and arts and crafts if you do too,
Read on as we reveal how to navigate the event for all the ronak you want for the weekend.
Bring your entire khandaan
LMM’20 will have you grooving to drums and tablas. Entry to the event is FREE! Simply bring your CNIC or a student ID card from 12pm to 10pm. Don’t forget to bring some cotton wool for kids to safeguard them from all the ronak.
Here’s the schedule for #LMM5
LMM boasts an alumni list of more than two hundred artists from all genres of the Pakistani music and creative arts scene: this includes legends such as Attaullah Esakhelvi, Ustaad Naseerudin Saami and Fareed Ayaz and Abu Mohammad; regional acts including Mai Dhai, Akhtar Channal, Saeen Zahoor and Bushra Marvi; esteemed members of the industry such as Tina Sani, Sajjad Ali and Javed Bashir; pop/rock artists such as Ali Noor and Hamza, Jimmy Khan, Ali Sethi, Gumby, Ali Azmat, Haniya Aslam and Abid Brohi; independent popular musicians Abdullah Siddiqui, Poor Rich Boy and Red Blood Cat; electronic artists such as Rudoh, Alien Panda Jury and Slowspin amongst many others.
Vinyl Shop & Listening Lounge by Daftarkhwan
The adabi baithak will be transformed into a lounge area where you can buy and listen to your favourite Pakistani vinyls and cassettes. With The Yellow Bar serving up snacks and coffee, this is the best place to take a breather and discover some old tunes and great records!
The food area for LMM is always a fan favourite! Offering everything from burgers to karak chai to bun kebabs, this is the best place to fuel up for the rest of the showcase!
In the spirit of supporting local artisans, the Numaish area will be showcasing artwork, hand-made goods and general goodies from across Pakistan! Prisms and paintbrushes + Areeb Tariq amongst other brands will be part of the Numaish.
